Grey Owl Founder
Grey Owl Partners’ founder (Adam C. Zylman) has a proven track record of sourcing, structuring and closing transactions as well as building small businesses into much larger companies. Mr. Zylman is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Grey Owl Partners, the oversight and development of Grey Owl Capital’s investments and the direct execution of Grey Owl Advisors’ projects. Prior to forming and funding Grey Owl in 2019, Mr. Zylman served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Sunland Capital, a privately-owned holding company investing in energy, industrial and infrastructure service companies, which Mr. Zylman co-founded in 2009. Prior to co-founding Sunland Capital, Mr. Zylman spent more than a decade in private equity and investment banking at SCF Partners and Merrill Lynch’s Global Energy & Power Group, respectively.
Mr. Zylman currently serves on the Board of Directors of The J.M. Burguières Co., Race Rock and Rebound Dynamics. He previously served on the Board of Directors for Sanchez Energy Corporation (NYSE: SN) as an Independent Director and Member of the Special Committee until that company's successful emergence from Chapter 11 as Mesquite Energy on June 30, 2020. Mr. Zylman serves on the Advisory Board for Aerion Rental Services, Axis Rental Solutions and Watson Truck & Supply as well as the Houston Advisory Board for Cadence Bank (now Huntington Bank). Over the course of his career, Mr. Zylman has served on the Board of Directors of several other privately-owned businesses and has served (or currently serves) a member (or Chairman) of a number of Audit and Compensation Committees. Mr. Zylman graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Managerial Studies from Rice University and is a member of the Houston Chapter (Gold) of the Young Presidents’ Organization.
