Grey Owl Founder

Grey Owl Partners’ founder (Adam C. Zylman) has a proven track record of sourcing, structuring and closing transactions as well as building small businesses into much larger companies.  Prior to forming and funding Grey Owl in 2019, Mr. Zylman served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Sunland Capital, a privately-owned holding company that invests in energy, industrial and infrastructure service companies, which Mr. Zylman co-founded in 2009.  Prior to co-founding Sunland Capital, Mr. Zylman spent more than a decade in private equity and investment banking at SCF Partners and Merrill Lynch’s Global Energy & Power Group, respectively.  As an investor and private equity professional, Mr. Zylman has been involved in hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of acquisition transactions as well as the successful sale or IPO of several businesses.  Earlier in his career, as an investment banking professional, Mr. Zylman was involved in executing over $30 billion of M&A, $6 billion of debt and $3 billion of equity and equity-linked transactions.

Mr. Zylman is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Grey Owl Partners, the oversight and development of Grey Owl Capital’s investments and the direct execution of Grey Owl Advisors’ active projects. Additionally, Mr. Zylman is focused on sourcing new investment opportunities for Grey Owl Capital and new advisory projects for Grey Owl Advisors.

Mr. Zylman currently serves on the Board of Directors for Sanchez Energy Corporation (NYSE: SN) as an Independent Director and Member of the Special Committee.  Mr. Zylman also serves on the Houston Advisory Board for Cadence Bank and is an Operating Advisor to Quintana Infrastructure & Development.  Over the course of his career, Mr. Zylman has also served on the Board of Directors of several privately-owned businesses.  Mr. Zylman graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Managerial Studies from Rice University and is a member of the Houston Chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization.
